 Amino - acid

Amino acid are organic compounds that contains both amino acid and carboxylic and fuctional gruop.

  • The amino group- (-NH2) is basic in nature.
  • The Carboxyl group- (-COOH) is acid in nature.

hundred of amino acids exist in nature.

Essential amino acid-

Essential amino acid are the amino acids which have to be taken in through diet as they, can not be produced by the body.

Example-

isoleucine, lysine, leucine, methionine, valine etc.

Number of amino acid-

9 amino acid out of 20 are through to be essential.

Sources-

As the defination implies, essential amino acid have to be acquird through food such as soy, quinoa, egg, chicken and meet etc.

Role-

Serve to build and repair muscle tissue, also its forms precursor molecules for the formation of neurotronsmitters in the brain.

Deficiency-

Highly probably as these amino acid are acquired through food.

Fuction of essential amino acid-

  • Methionine is used in the treatment of kidney stones.

  • Leucine is involved in protein synthesis and growth hormones.

  • Histidine is involved in many enzymatic processes both red blood cell.

  • Valine is important for muscle growth.

Non-Essential amino acid-

out of 20 amino acids, our body can easily synthesize a few on its own, which are called

non-essential amino acid.

Example-

Alanine, Aspartic acid, Proline, Glycine etc.

Number of amino acid-

11 amino acid out of 20 are non-essential.

Sources-

Are produced within the body from orther amino acid and components.

Role-

Removal of toxins intergral in the synthesis of RBC and WBC promotes brains fuction and many more.

Deficiency-

Probability of deficiency is rare, but can still occur due to starvation or illness.

Fuction of non-essential amino acid-

  • Alanine fuctions by removing toxins from our body.

  • Glutamine promotes a healthy brain fuction.

  • Serine helps in promoting muscle growth.

  • Proline is involved in the repairing of the tissue.
